STEM initiatives are so important in today’s environment. The SRMA actively helps local students to excel in STEM subjects.
SRMA is collaborating with the The STEM@Work program, which is driven through a partnership between The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools and the Career and Technical Education Department of The Lee County School District. Through immersion tours, shadowing and hands-on activities, students from Lee County District High Schools experience on-the-job skills in local science, technology, engineering and mathematics industries.
Students apply to participate in the STEM@Work program, and those chosen have a variety of backgrounds and interests. The Foundation and the School District coordinate transportation for students to and from area businesses for these engaging STEM experiences.
